- Diagnosed November 19, 2019
- Stage IV Lung Cancer with Diabetes Type 2
- Detected EGFR exon 19 mutation on November 26, 2019
- Sent ER/ICU for Oxycontin overdose December 8, 2019
- CT Scan December 8, Stage IV Lung cancer w/ bone mets
- Hospitalized for 4 days, Tagrisso approved insurance
- Started Tagrisso 80ml a day on December 12, 2019
- Doctor assumes Tagrisso fail, orders chemo January 26, 2020
- Skeptical, second opinion seeked on January 27, 2020
- In addition, gained third opinion from Moffit Cancer in Florida
- Switched doctors to City of Hope on January 28, 2020
- CT Scan February 2020, shows no Tagrisso fail, continue, drain pleural effusion
- Start Xgeva injection for bone fracture prevention March 2020
- CT Scan May 2020, right lobe tumor shrinks, stable, continue dose
- CT Scan August 2020, all tumor/mets stable, drain pleural effusion
- Next PET/CT scan in November.
- October 2020, Tagrisso Progression, new line of treatment planned (chemo + immunotherapy: carbo/Taxol/atezolizumab/Avastin)
- November 2020: Palliative care recommended, PleurX installed after partial success on pleuradesis procedure.
- November 2020: Health declining, new prognosis from oncology team including second opinion. Decision to enter hospice with TrinityCare.
- November 16, 2020 at 11:01pm: Mom peacefully passes away while holding hands with dad and son.
